The history of the club
The Alba Tennis Club was founded in 1978 by a group of wealthy philanthropists from the city with the aim of contributing to the social and sporting development of the lower Piedmont region. The first president was Franco Rolando, a hard worker, who laid solid foundations for the club's future development.
That the initiative was destined for success was clear from the number of initial members: as many as 330 shareholders, all from the local area, indicating how strongly the cause of sport was felt. The following years confirmed the founders' expectations: the club soon reached the national circuit, beginning to host prestigious players and personalities, including Gianni Occeppo, originally from the Langhe, and world champion Bjorn Borg.
Success arrived in 2007 with entry into Serie 1. On the club's clay courts, national and international level players faced off, including Fabio Fognini and Andreas Seppi. In these golden years, the founders' expectations were more than fulfilled.

The major economic crisis around 2010 also affected the world of tennis. A vision of the club focused solely on pure competition began to show its limitations. The idea emerged of a greater appreciation of sport as a means of personal development and a return to the philanthropic values of the club's original founders.
In 2014, the current management took over, and the New Alba Tennis Club was founded with the mission of opening up the association and the game of tennis to a wider audience, moving beyond the confines of competitive circuits. Services were expanded with a new vision that promotes sport as an educational and formative experience for citizens, emphasizing its recreational aspect and the enjoyment of free time. New initiatives were introduced for children and teenagers.
Currently, the Tennis Padel Pickleball Club also organizes events, parties, aperitifs, social gatherings, and explorations of the local area, striving to bring tennis as close as possible to today's people to offer a new formula for fun and socialization.
